In a response to Radio Free Europe, the State Department emphasized that preserving peace and stability in the Western Balkans remains one of the United States’ priorities.
“The normalization of relations between Serbia and Kosovo is a necessary part of this process,” a State Department spokesperson said.
Vučić made the statement on August 9, saying that Serbian institutions were examining, together with experts, the possibility of diverting the course of the Ibar. According to him, this is related to the demolition of Serbian houses and villas near Lake Ujman, in northern Kosovo.
