“Today, the Ministry of Economy and Innovation presented a draft decision of special importance. It concerns the approval in principle of the social security agreement with Poland, which increases the number of signed agreements to 17,” said Ibrahimaj.
She stressed that this initiative, pursued for years and accelerated by the government, is vital for guaranteeing employment rights. According to her, this issue has been a long-standing concern. The minister also recalled the ratification of the agreement with Italy, a country where a significant number of Albanians live and work.
“We are moving at a fast pace. Four other agreements are currently on the negotiating table and we believe they will soon be ready for approval by the Council of Ministers and for signing,” she added.
For his part, Finance Minister Petrit Malaj presented a series of legal amendments to the financial system, aimed at updating and harmonizing it with European Union directives. The approved draft laws affect the Law on Payment Services, the Law on the Payment System, and the Law on Banks in the Republic of Albania.
Malaj explained that these interventions aim not only to modernize the financial system but also bring direct benefits to citizens and businesses. He specifically mentioned reducing the costs of financial services, strengthening the security and efficiency of the system, increasing consumer protection, and fostering competition and innovation in the market.
“This legal package will contribute to the further development of the financial market and to the ongoing transformation of our economy,” concluded the Finance Minister.
