Acting Minister for Labor, Family and War Veterans, Andin Hoti, reacted sharply after a statement by Serbian Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Snezhana Paunoviq. She had claimed that if she had been in Slobodan Milosevic’s position during 1998, she would have carried out the ethnic cleansing of Kosovo.
According to Hoti, any voice that promotes ethnic cleansing today does not just pose a danger to Kosovo, but also serves as proof that Serbia remains gripped by Milosevic’s genocidal ideology.

Through a Facebook post, he stressed that her ideological mentor, Milosevic, tried to do exactly that in Kosovo, but ended up before the international court and Serbia was forced to withdraw in shame from Kosovar territory.
Hoti added that the people of Kosovo, the Kosovo Liberation Army and the world’s democratic allies gave their clear answer. Kosovo remained an independent state, while Milosevic went down in history as a war criminal and today is dead.
He warned Paunoviq that any similar attempt would end the same way and underlined that calls for ethnic cleansing are not only a direct threat to Kosovo, but living proof that Serbia has not abandoned Milosevic’s genocidal legacy and the criminal policies that brought wars, massacres and historical shame.
