Trump: Iran Has Agreed to Almost All U.S. Demands, “Has Been Completely Wiped Out Militarily”

Donald Trump said that, in his view, Iran has agreed to “almost everything the U.S. needs” as part of the negotiations currently taking place between the two countries.

In an interview with CNBC, the American president explained that his administration is no longer seeking regime change in Iran, but rather the prevention of nuclear weapons development. “I am not seeking regime change. Iran cannot have nuclear weapons,” he said.

He also stated that Iran has been “completely wiped out militarily,” although he acknowledged that the country still possesses some missiles, which, according to him, can be destroyed.

During the same interview, Trump described Iran as “a spoiled child” and as “the bully of the Middle East,” adding that Tehran will need time to adjust to the pressure being exerted by the U.S.

These statements come as talks on a final agreement between the U.S. and Iran have begun in Qatar. The next round of negotiations is expected to be held after the funeral ceremony of Iran’s former supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

At the same time, the Trump administration has come under criticism for failing to anticipate Iran’s closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a situation that drove up energy prices on international markets and increased pressure to return to the negotiating table.
