On Friday afternoon, strong winds that hit the city of Gjirokastër caused several trees to fall in the Granicë neighborhood and in the Viroi area, temporarily blocking traffic on several road segments.
The Gjirokastër Fire Protection and Rescue Directorate (MZSH) announced that teams immediately intervened in both areas to remove the fallen trees and restore the normal flow of vehicles.

According to the authorities, there were no injuries or material damage from these incidents. The only difficulty caused was the temporary interruption of traffic, while after the services took action, the situation returned to normal.
Services are urging citizens to be careful while moving about in unstable weather conditions and to avoid staying near trees or objects that could be endangered by strong winds.
