A woman narrowly escaped death after being pulled out alive from the rubble of a building that collapsed in La Guaira following the powerful earthquake that struck the area.
Graciela Mora was fully conscious at the moment emergency teams, together with volunteers, managed to pull her from beneath the debris.

Just minutes after being rescued, while she was still on a stretcher, she gave an account of the dramatic moments she went through during the seismic tremors.
“When the earthquake started, I held onto the door frame as tightly as I could. I gripped it so hard that I broke my finger,” she said.
Mora said she did not let go of the door at any moment until the building collapsed completely.
“I stayed holding on until all the floors collapsed,” she said, describing the horror she experienced under the rubble.
She also added that at one point she spotted the hand of one of the rescuers reaching toward her and grabbed it immediately, which made it possible for her to be pulled from the rubble.
Meanwhile, footage from her rescue operation has been widely shared on social media as searches continue to find other people who may still be under the rubble.
