Democratic Party Secretary-General Flamur Noka has responded to statements by News24 journalist Osman Stafa, who said police officers intimidated and threatened him while he was filming an operation near the Pyramid in Tirana.
Speaking on “Prime News24,” Noka described the incident as another case of extreme misuse of the State Police. He said the force now operates as a private gang protecting Prime Minister Edi Rama, and that stopping a journalist who was reporting on an incident violates the right to information.

He also linked the incident to measures taken against television studios that have been fined after guests made critical remarks about the prime minister. Noka said these developments show the government’s panic and called for the overthrow of what he described as a “narco-regime.”
Noka said on “Prime News24” that the Osman Stafa case had crossed every line in the unlawful use of the State Police. He said the police had become a private gang protecting the “narco-prime minister” and called it unacceptable to prevent a journalist from doing his job and reporting on the reality in the country.
According to Noka, journalists’ right to report is guaranteed, and such conduct has not been seen before. He added that the situation shows the panic that, in his view, has gripped the narco-regime and Edi Rama, who is trying to hold on to everything through violence.
Noka also described the Council of Ministers decision imposing repressive measures as appalling, saying Rama is paranoid, frightened and no longer knows what he is doing.
Speaking about the fines imposed on television studios, he said a media outlet had never before been punished simply because a guest criticized the prime minister. In his view, a studio might in future even be fined for a statement calling Rama a narco-prime minister.
Noka concluded that this was a sign of the end of a state and that Albania had only one solution: citizens must rise up and overthrow the narco-regime.
