The victim is suspected of having first been assaulted and then attacked with sharp objects.

In 2021, the Korçë Court had ordered the security measure of “detention in prison” for the 26-year-old on charges of “intentional homicide” committed in cooperation.

He was arrested in Greece during the international operation “The Wanted”, following the exchange of intelligence and operational cooperation between the Directorate of Interpol and Interpol Athens. Tahiri was temporarily detained with a view to his extradition to Albania.

The incident in Thessaloniki was reported in Korçë by the victim’s family members, while investigative actions were carried out in coordination with the Greek authorities.

Interpol Tirana continues communicating with Interpol Athens to complete the procedures for the 26-year-old’s extradition to Albania.
