On Wednesday, at 4:00 p.m., a protest against the murder of women will be held at “Zahir Pajaziti” Square in Pristina, under the slogan “The murder of women must be treated as a national emergency.”
The call for the protest comes after the murder of Arlinda Zekaj in Peja. In a media statement, the organizers urged citizens to participate and called on institutions to take responsibility.

The organizers said the case demonstrates institutional negligence toward women’s demands for protection and safety.
“We cannot continue living in a forced normality while women are being abused, beaten and even killed before our eyes,” the statement said.
According to the announcement, protests and blockades of institutions will continue on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and in the days that follow.
Protesters will gather at “Zahir Pajaziti” Square and march from there toward the Ministry of Justice. The route also includes the Prosecutorial Council, the Judicial Council, the Kosovo Police and the Government.
“We call for national organization and solidarity. For safety and freedom for living women, and justice for murdered women. Join us!” the organizers said in their call.
