By day we breathe tear gas, at night we work / Law student challenges Rama: Punitive measures will not scare us!

A young protester, who recently graduated from the Faculty of Law, sent a direct message to Prime Minister Edi Rama, declaring that students would not be intimidated by the punitive measures announced by the government.

The statement was made during a media appearance in which civil society representatives and intellectuals announced the submission of a complaint to SPAK regarding alleged police violence against students during the protests.

The young man said the government’s measures had an ulterior motive and that, in his view, they would be overturned by the Constitutional Court. He stressed that the protesters had no intention of backing down from their demands, despite the prime minister’s warnings.

The student said that young people would continue their mobilization, combining their daily work with protests in the evening.

Referring to the government’s package of measures against protesters, the recent law graduate said he was convinced that they would not succeed in stopping the student movement.

He stressed that the protests would continue, while rejecting efforts that, in his view, sought to intimidate young people through legal measures.

“As a protester and a graduate of the Faculty of Law, I would say that Rama should bear in mind that those measures have an ulterior motive.

Communist principles that run counter to the principles of the EU. The Constitutional Court itself will overturn them.

But he should forget about us being intimidated by those measures; he should not even think about it. By day we breathe tear gas, and at night we work. He should not underestimate us,” he said.
