Lumturije Vuçetaj, the Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution Office in Peja, was asked to submit a written report presenting the chronology of the cases.
The report must identify the individuals reported, the legal classification of the cases and the prosecutors responsible for handling them. Details are also requested on the procedural actions taken, when they were carried out and the reasons supporting the decisions.
The review will also include an assessment of the risk, the measures taken to protect the victim and interinstitutional cooperation. It must also clarify how Zekaj’s letter dated October 22, 2026, was handled.
The Chief State Prosecutor also addressed the Kosovo Police Inspectorate, asking it to carry out investigative and verification actions.
The Inspectorate will examine how Zekaj’s reports were received, registered, assessed and handled by the police. The verifications aim to determine whether the police actions were lawful and to identify possible individual or institutional responsibility.
“If violations of the law, negligence or inaction by the responsible officials are established, the appropriate legal measures will be taken and accountability will be sought for each violation identified,” the statement said.
The Office of the Chief State Prosecutor said the matter would be handled with seriousness and urgency. The next steps will be determined after the relevant documents and reports have been received and analyzed.
