Kosovo’s Parliament is expected to hold an extraordinary session today over the killing of Arlinda Zekaj, who died on Sunday evening in Vitomirica, Peja. The news was announced by Vigan Qorrolli, chair of the Committee on Legislation, at the committee’s meeting today.
Qorrolli accused the prosecutor and called for her to be held accountable under the law. He linked the accusations to the way institutions responded to Arlinda’s request for help.

The case has raised questions about the actions of institutions, as Zekaj had sought protection just three days before she was found dead.
In a submission addressed to the chief prosecutor of Peja, she had called for urgent action against officials who, she said, had failed to carry out their duties to protect her.
In her letter, Zekaj called for the immediate enforcement of a court ruling and for an investigation to be launched into the officials involved in handling the case, including those at the Center for Social Work.
