Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi have been found guilty by the Trial Panel of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague on four counts of war crimes, while they were acquitted of six charges of crimes against humanity.

Following the verdict, numerous reactions emerged in Kosovo regarding the trial and the establishment of the Specialist Chambers itself.
Alban Krasniqi addressed precisely this topic, drawing attention in a Facebook post to the voting process that led to the establishment of the Special Court in 2015.
According to him, a considerable group of lawmakers with a past in the Kosovo Liberation Army supported the creation of this institution.
“At least 18 veteran KLA MPs voted in favor of establishing the Special Court on August 3, 2015. This is a painful fact,” Krasniqi emphasized in his post.
It should be recalled that the Special Court came into being through a decision by the Kosovo Assembly on August 3, 2015, and the proceedings against the former KLA leaders in The Hague lasted several years before concluding with the first-instance verdict.
