In his remarks, he addressed the Socialists by asking whether they knew Ahmetaj, while stressing that he had exposed wrongdoing at AKSHI and the Llogara Tunnel and had now released Ron Yeffet’s wiretaps.
According to him, the wiretaps show that Albania, as a NATO country, has lost its national security.
“I believe everyone here has watched football matches. You will ask what that has to do with anything. Of course it does, because you take the ball and walk off the pitch, but it does not end there. You say, ‘Carry on with the game now.’ I am talking about the Constitution.
“Do you remember Arben Ahmetaj? Of course you do. You had him as the government’s number two. Many of you wanted to meet him and have him as a friend, but he paid no attention to you. Then, when he fell out with Rama, Rama sent him to the back of the line, but you also got your revenge, showing your character by refusing to speak to him.
“He had spoken about AKSHI, which turned out to be the darkest pit, although you have many such pits, and showed how your system of government works. He had spoken about the Llogara Tunnel, and now you have that like a ball and chain around your ankles.
“Now he has released these wiretaps involving Ron. He was number two and knows how everything works. These wiretaps prove that a NATO country like ours has lost its national security and public money. While previously you gave it to domestic criminals, now you give it to those abroad. It is a huge race because the world is endless. Where will we end up like this?” he said.
