The protester also addressed the death threat against News24 journalist Osman Stafa, calling on the Prosecution to investigate the incident urgently.

He said that the violence carried out by a uniformed police officer was not an isolated incident and that there had previously been episodes in Albania in which the state police had been involved in various events. According to him, such actions are linked to the criminal way in which this institution is run by a corrupt prime minister.

“The assault by the uniformed police officer affected us all. It is not the first time that the state police has been involved in various incidents, nor is it the first time we have faced irresponsible police officers who use violence. This is linked to the criminal way in which this police force is run by a corrupt prime minister.

This protest has brought people together beyond political beliefs, and we are here for Albania. We must not forget that, because of the political parties and the laws they have passed, Albanians have killed one another. But if there is an instigator of violence and hatred in the country, it is Prime Minister Rama.

We only need to look at his recent actions regarding a law on which the Constitutional Court has issued a ruling. He incites hatred against judges and prosecutors simply because they have opposed him. Albania and its citizens must unite, because only unity can move us forward. In this square, we must achieve our goal of changing Albania.

I also want to condemn the death threat against journalist Osman Stafa. This is an unprecedented incident, and prosecutors must investigate it urgently. Rama has also incited hatred against teachers, academics and journalists, as well as against us, labeling us in various ways. The evil in this country is Edi Rama,” the protester said.
