Donald Trump has made a new demand of his European allies, once again putting them in a difficult position. The US president is calling on European countries to reimburse the United States for funds used to provide military aid to Ukraine during the presidency of his predecessor, Joe Biden.

In a post on his platform, Truth Social, the White House chief estimated the support provided by Washington to Kyiv at “hundreds of billions of dollars.” He claimed that this aid had been provided without any compensation from the recipient side.
According to Trump, if the costs of the support had been distributed fairly, the sum should have been paid by European countries. “We will seek the return of this money, even if belatedly,” he wrote.
However, the figure cited by the US president remains a matter of debate, as the amount varies depending on the method used to calculate US aid to Ukraine.
In the same statement, Trump claimed that the US possesses “practically unlimited quantities of ammunition.” According to him, the country has far more ammunition than it could need, including ammunition that could be used against Iran. He added that the US industry continues to produce it in large quantities.
The statements follow reports that, because of the conflict with Iran, US stocks of several high-precision weapons systems and anti-aircraft missiles have been significantly depleted. The situation has raised concerns about the level of readiness of the US military to face possible conflicts in the future.
