SPAK and BKH search the apartment and office of businessman Artan Dulaku

The National Bureau of Investigation (BKH) and the State Police, by order of SPAK, carried out searches in the apartment and office of businessman Artan Dulaku, as part of the investigation into the Limion port in Saranda, which is under seizure.

As part of the investigation that SPAK has been conducting for 2 years into the alienation of military property in Saranda, it is learned that searches were carried out today in the apartment and office of businessman Artan Dulaku. Sources for Report TV indicate that the searches were carried out at the request of prosecutor Manjola Kajana and by decision of the GJKKO, while BKH agents were also supported by the State Police.

Based on these investigations, by decision of the GJKKO, the Port of Limioni, a Naval Forces base, property of the Albanian army, which in July 2020, by decision of the government, was leased, as part of a much larger territory of over 265 thousand square meters. The company “Marina Bay Saranda” shpk envisages the construction of a hotel complex, residences and a yacht port that will offer the possibility of anchoring for 400 ships. The request of the company “Marina Bay Saranda” for the lifting of the seizure of the naval base in the coastal city was also rejected by the Constitutional Court on November 12, 2024.

The investigation began after the complaint to SPAK by the former deputy commander of the Naval Force, Artur Meçollari in 2021 against the decision of the Council of Ministers, which on July 1, 2020 decided that the Limion Naval Base, with a total area of over 265 thousand square meters, would be leased for 20 years at the symbolic fee of 1 euro to the merger of the 2 companies.

The Saranda naval base will remain sequestered until the Special Prosecution Office issues a decision on the investigation launched regarding the procedures followed for the lease of military property to a private party.
