Divjaka residents have continued their protest against the Socialist Party’s proposal for a new territorial map, which envisages dissolving 15 municipalities. For 17 days, Divjaka residents have been protesting en masse against the dissolution of their municipality and its merger with Lushnja.

During the rally, residents called on citizens to join the protest, arguing that the municipality cannot be dissolved on a political whim. They said they were determined to continue defending Divjaka.
“We will defend our Divjaka,” one citizen said.
During the protest, one citizen said that Rama wants to concentrate power in one pair of hands. Citizens also asked how a municipality could be dissolved for political reasons.
“This is unconstitutional. They want to concentrate power in one pair of hands. How can you dissolve a municipality for political reasons? You cannot erase an identity on a political whim. We will defend it until the very end,” another resident said.
The protest ended with a march through the city’s streets, while participants announced that they would continue protesting in the coming days.
