While verifying the documents and the goods, customs officers came across an invoice for a cold weapon (rifle). The document raised suspicions that the vehicle might also contain other items related to weapons.
As a result, the inspection was extended to the truck cabin and the driver’s personal belongings. Customs officials said that two boxes containing a total of 20 rounds of ammunition were found inside his personal bag.
The case was subsequently forwarded for further processing, in accordance with the relevant procedures and legal mandates.
Kosovo Customs also stated that it remains committed to detecting and preventing all types of smuggling and the trafficking of prohibited goods. To this end, it conducts continuous inspections and cooperates with the competent institutions to ensure security and compliance with the legislation in force.
