The 20-year age gap between them immediately prompted the French media to draw comparisons with the story of Brigitte and Emmanuel Macron. More than three decades ago, the French first lady fell in love with Macron, who at the time was a teenager and her student.
Auzière and Lecomte are believed to have begun their relationship in Le Touquet, the seaside town where the Macron family has owned a holiday home for years. They met after the 42-year-old took lessons from Lecomte in how to use an electric surfboard, known as an eFoil.
The couple has also displayed their relationship on social media. On Sunday, Auzière shared a video on Instagram from their trip to Amsterdam. The footage shows them together as they stay in the same room at the Faralda Hotel, an unusual property built on top of a former crane at an abandoned shipyard.

Lecomte also posted the same video, captioning it: “48 hours a day with madam.”
French magazine Gala reports that Auzière split up in May with television presenter Cyril Hanouna, following a relationship that had lasted about a year. Hanouna had also occasionally featured her as a commentator on his program.
People close to Auzière have said that the age gap does not concern the couple. “There was an immediate connection between them,” one friend said, adding that they are brought together by their passion for Le Touquet, travel, thrills and entrepreneurship.

The same source said that Lecomte is also developing a company connected with kitesurfing equipment. Another friend of Auzière compared him with Brigitte Macron, saying that both women “follow their hearts” and pay little attention to other people’s opinions.
Auzière, who has two children from a previous relationship, has previously spoken about the impact of her mother’s relationship with Emmanuel Macron on her life.

Brigitte Macron was 38 and working as a drama teacher at a Catholic school in Amiens when she began her relationship with Macron, who at the time was still a teenager and attending the same school.
Speaking in 2024 about that period, Auzière said the experience had strengthened her character. She said she had learned to cope both with public attention and with people’s comments.

Brigitte Macron’s daughter has also publicly defended her mother, who for years has been targeted by conspiracy theories online. Auzière gave evidence in a court case in Paris concerning online harassment against France’s first lady.
After being found guilty of cyberharassing Brigitte Macron, ten people received suspended sentences and fines.
The Macron family has also filed a lawsuit in the United States against influencer Candace Owens, who has spread false claims and conspiracy theories about Brigitte Macron. Auzière is also expected to testify in the case.
