The United States has praised Albania for the recent repatriation of five Albanian citizens from Syria. In a statement published by the U.S. Embassy in Tirana, it said that two women and three children had returned to Albania and would now have access to rehabilitation and reintegration support.

In its post, the U.S. Embassy quoted the Bureau of Counterterrorism at the U.S. Department of State, saying that this was “a victory for these families and for global security.”
“The United States commends Albania for repatriating its citizens from Syria—two women and three children recently returned—who are being given a future with support for rehabilitation and reintegration. A victory for these families and for global security,” the Embassy said in the statement, which had previously also been published by the Bureau of Counterterrorism.
