Enzo Bettamio, 19, appeared in court on Monday charged with the murder of a woman in central London. According to the prosecution, the incident occurred just hours after the victim had rented him a room through a short-term rental property management platform.
The hearing was told that Bettamio, who was 16 at the time, arrived in Britain from Los Angeles on April 5, 2024. He used the well-known platform to book a room for one month in the central London Marble Arches apartment of Kamonan Tiamfanit, also known as Angela.

On the night of the crime, the owner was at a friend’s home. However, she left in the early hours of April 6, saying that there was an emergency at her apartment.
The woman arrived home in an Uber vehicle at 4:24 a.m., and this was the last time she was seen alive. Approximately 13 hours later, Bettamio allegedly took a taxi to the airport, bought a ticket and flew to Dubai.
Police found her body on April 8 after the victim’s friends became alarmed because they were unable to contact her. A forensic examination determined that she had died from multiple stab wounds.
The trial of Bettamio, an international karting driver, is expected to begin on February 1 next year.
