During an inspection of passengers’ luggage, a suitcase was found containing a large quantity of medicines and pharmaceutical products, which had not been declared to customs authorities and did not have the relevant documentation.
Customs said that a total of 7,168 pharmaceutical products were identified during the inspection. Of these, 7,100 were capsules, while another 68 were in various pharmaceutical forms, including syrups, sprays and gel.
“Since none of the passengers claimed ownership of the luggage, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 08/L-247 – the Customs and Excise Code, misdemeanor proceedings were initiated against the transport company, as the entity responsible for the transport of goods and baggage in cases where their owner is not identified. The undeclared goods were detained and further procedural actions were taken in line with the competencies of Kosovo Customs,” Customs said.
