Lawyer Arianit Koci commented on the arrest of Osman Selmani, a citizen of Kosovo, stressing that his client is in no way connected to the criminal offense of which he is suspected by the Serbian authorities.
According to Koci, Selmani is a 74-year-old from Sofalia, and his detention took place at the border crossing between Kosovo and Serbia.

He said that he has information about the suspicions weighing on Selmani, but at this stage he cannot provide further details.
“Osman Selmani is a 74-year-old from Sofalia, a very good man, a patriot. But as for why they arrested him, he has nothing to do with it. At the moment I cannot give much information, but it is part of the arrests that started much earlier. The news came out today; he was arrested the night before last at the border between Kosovo and Serbia. I have information about the suspicions against him. I am in contact with his family members. There is not a shred of suspicion regarding the offense he is suspected of in Serbia. He has no connection to those charges,” Koci said on Klan Kosova.
Meanwhile, it should be recalled that Serbia’s High Court ordered Selmani into 30 days of pre-trial detention after he was arrested on July 1 at the Mutivoda border crossing on suspicion of committing war crimes.
