Russian authorities also reported other casualties as a result of the drone attacks. In the Belgorod region, a man was killed following an attack that, according to local officials, was carried out by Ukraine. Likewise, in the Tver region, a 61-year-old woman died after debris from a downed drone fell on a home.
On the other hand, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine had struck the satellite communications center in Dubna for the second time in a week, a facility that, according to Kyiv, is used by the Russian military for reconnaissance and for coordinating military operations.
“Today, our strikes against infrastructure supporting Russia’s war once again hit the satellite communications center in Dubna, in the Moscow region,” Zelensky wrote on Telegram.
According to him, the facility is located more than 1,300 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also reported that the same center had been hit last week as well.
However, the Kremlin has not confirmed the attack on the facility. Moscow region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said a drone struck an “administrative building” in the city of Dubna, but reported no casualties.
Meanwhile, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said Russian air defense systems shot down a total of 419 drones overnight on Monday.
In Ukraine, authorities reported that at least two people were killed and 15 others were injured in Russian attacks in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Regional Governor Ivan Fedorov said Russian forces struck the city with seven guided bombs within about 90 minutes. According to him, the victims were two men aged 62 and 45, while 15 other people received medical assistance after the attack.
