A powerful hailstorm has struck Zavalinë in Elbasan, causing major damage to orchards.
During the night, the bad weather, accompanied by strong winds, severely affected agriculture in the administrative unit of Zavalinë.

According to local residents, a large area of agricultural land was damaged, which is also one of the main pillars of the local economy.
Residents say the hail lasted only a few minutes, but its intensity was so high that the leaves were stripped from the fruit trees and this year’s production was completely destroyed.
Apples, plums and grape vineyards, which were in the fruit-growing stage, suffered almost 100% damage.
Major damage was also recorded to seasonal vegetables, as well as in areas planted with corn.
Farmers are seeking financial support, saying that without state assistance it is impossible for them to recover from this damage.
