A professor at the University of Shtip arrested, suspected of asking a student for 300 euros to pass an exam

North Macedonia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that yesterday, on 29.06.2026 at 11:45, police officers from the Shtip Internal Affairs Sector detained T.A. (39) from Shtip on suspicion of the criminal offense of “taking a bribe.”

According to the statement, earlier, on 22.06.2026, K.B. (26) from Turkey, who is temporarily staying in Shtip and is a student at Goce Delcev University, reported that T.A. had asked him for 300 euros in order to let him pass an exam scheduled to be held on 29.06.2026.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs said that, in coordination with the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Shtip, the relevant actions were undertaken and K.M. was given three 100-euro banknotes processed with criminal-technical methods. T.A. was arrested by police immediately after taking the money. She was then taken to a police station, while the cash was confiscated. After the case is fully clarified, the appropriate charges will be filed against her, the ministry’s statement said.
