The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare says the aim of the inspections is to guarantee that tourist businesses comply with legal requirements throughout the summer season.
According to the SHSI, field inspections have also found cases where the legislation in force was not respected. For these violations, the responsible entities have been subjected to the relevant administrative measures.
The institution underlines that creating safe conditions for citizens and tourists remains a priority, through reducing risks related to hygiene and public health.
For this purpose, a special inspection group has been set up, which carries out daily checks and remains on standby to address citizens’ complaints and reports throughout the tourist season.
