Kosovo’s acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, took part last night in the final night of the Traditional Football Tournament “Has Martyrs’ Week,” accompanied by the acting Minister of Sports and Youth, Blerim Gashani. On this occasion, he stressed that “the Government will support every sports initiative.”
During his address to those present, Kurti said that the martyrs are embedded in the foundations of the state and at the roots of Kosovo’s freedom.

“To conclude the final of the Traditional Football Tournament ‘Has Martyrs’ Week’ here at the Hill of Reconciliation, there is no doubt that this is more than a sports tournament in which we are taking part together. It is an act of remembrance, an expression of gratitude, and proof that the sacrifice of entire generations continues to live on in the collective consciousness of our society and our people, and we wish to promote healthy values for the younger generations and for those who will come after us,” acting Prime Minister Kurti said.
He called on young people to engage in sport as much as possible, while underlining that the Government will stand by them in sports initiatives and beyond.
“Dear organizers of ‘Martyrs’ Week in Has,’ the martyrs are in the foundations of our state. They are at the roots of our freedom. Therefore, we never forget them; we always commemorate them because their legacies and ideals guide us toward the future, while their blood is what keeps both our history and our present strong,” Kurti said.
