Riyadh: Eight explosions reported, authorities warn of potential Houthi threat

AFP journalists reported that eight explosions were heard today in Riyadh. Shortly beforehand, authorities had sent residents text messages warning of an “air attack threat,” amid repeated attacks by Iran-backed Houthis from Yemen against Saudi Arabia.

Saudi civil defense also warned of “potential danger” in Kharj, southeast of Riyadh, as well as in the southern city of Najran. Meanwhile, residents of the capital received alerts about a “hostile aerial threat.”
