Grape growers from Tremnik in Negotino voiced their concerns about difficulties selling their produce during a meeting today with the leader of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (LSDM), Venko Filipçe. According to them, black “Vranec” grapes are being left without buyers and are spoiling, while white grapes are being purchased for just 14 denars per kilogram.

Filipçe said that such a situation puts at risk all the work carried out over the course of a year, as well as the money invested by the grape growers. He criticized the government, saying that so far it has not responded with appropriate measures to resolve the problem.
The LSDM leader emphasized that the difficulties are not limited to the Negotino area, as grape producers in other parts of the country are facing the same concern.
“At a time when the government has 5.5 million euros for David Guetta, there is no money for grape growers,” Filipçe said.
He also recalled the period when LSDM was running the country, stressing that subsidies were increased at that time, payments were made on time, and intervention measures were introduced whenever problems emerged with the purchase of grapes. Filipçe said that LSDM would once again propose concrete measures to help grape growers./Telegrafi/
