Shasivari stressed that his statement did not constitute support for the court. According to him, on September 16, the decision should not be determined by the streets, politics or emotions, but by the court itself.

“Do not attribute to me a position I have not expressed,” he wrote, emphasizing that he did not support the establishment of the Special Court and did not secure votes for its creation.

He said that Ali Ahmeti and Berat Buzhala gathered the votes for establishing the Special Court, something they have also acknowledged, according to him.

According to the minister, the Special Court is now a reality, created as a result of someone else’s efforts. For this reason, he said, what remains now is to face the consequences.

“It is a reality today as a result of someone’s efforts. We are left to deal with the consequences,” Shasivari said.

He clarified that his earlier appeal was intended to serve the interests of the Republic of Kosovo, preserve the image of the KLA and protect the interests of Albanians in general.

Shasivari called on everyone to read his statement as he expressed it, rather than attributing words to him that he did not say.

He added that the misinterpretations come from “those who use everything sacred in political battles.”
