Minister of Justice Donika Gërvalla has responded to calls for her resignation following the murder of Arlinda Zekaj. She said she would resign if she believed that doing so would help determine more accurately and quickly what actions or inactions had been taken by the institutions.
“If I thought that my resignation would help identify more accurately and quickly the actions or inactions, I would have resigned,” Gërvalla declared, reports Bota sot.

According to the minister, resignation is not the right solution at this stage. She added that citizens know she always stands by the victims.
“This is not the moment,” Gërvalla said in response to calls for her resignation following the tragic case.
