The fire that broke out near the village of Belica, in the municipality of Makedonski Brod, remains active. More than 60 people from Skopje and Makedonski Brod, including members of the Public Enterprise “Jasen” and the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, have been engaged in the operation to extinguish it.

The director of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, Stojanche Angelov, said that the village’s residents were not in danger, as the fire is far from the inhabited area.
To prevent the flames from spreading toward the pine forests, teams on the ground are using firefighting equipment and building firebreaks.
A total of 12 fires have been recorded across the country: 5 remain active, 5 are under control, and 2 have been extinguished.
The situation is also expected to improve with the forecast rainfall, mainly in the Kichevo region and in the mountainous areas of the northwest.
