The Meteorological Department announced that from Wednesday, September 9, through the end of the week, local storms accompanied by heavy rainfall, thunder, strong winds and hail are expected in Macedonia.

An orange warning level for high temperatures has been declared across the country. Daytime temperatures reached up to 36 degrees, while hot weather was also recorded in Skopje.
Wednesday and Thursday mornings will be mostly sunny and warm, with occasional light to moderate cloud cover. The situation is expected to change in the afternoon, when heavy showers, thunderstorms and strong winds are forecast.
According to the Meteorological Department, high atmospheric energy may encourage the rapid development of local storm systems. In certain areas, heavy rainfall may occur within a short period, along with strong winds and hail.
Unsettled weather is expected to prevail until the end of the week. Sunny periods may quickly be followed by heavy rainfall and storms, so citizens are advised to regularly follow the warnings and radar images from the National Weather Service.
