For several days, parties that were previously in opposition have been holding press conferences on political developments and the institutional deadlock in the country. The PDK has been making daily appearances before the media, while the Alliance has also been involved in certain actions.

Through these conferences, the parties are setting out their criticism and positions on the current political situation. However, it remains unclear to what extent citizens are receiving new information or concrete solutions from them.
The question is whether these public appearances serve to inform public opinion and create political pressure, or whether they have been reduced to repetitions of the same accusations and statements.
PDK MP Arian Tahiri said that the daily conferences aim to draw public attention to the political situation in Kosovo.
Tahiri said the purpose of these appearances was to put the situation facing the country on the agenda and raise the alarm. According to him, Kosovo is moving toward authoritarian rule, and the violation of the Constitution by a prime minister who does so knowingly in a democratic state requires, at the very least, such a response. He said this should be done jointly by everyone.
According to Tahiri, the conferences aim to raise citizens’ awareness of the need to protect the democratic and constitutional order in the country.
He said that everything being undertaken is intended to raise the alarm, address the situation and raise awareness among all citizens of Kosovo about protecting the state and the Constitution under the current circumstances.
A similar assessment was offered by Alliance MP Burim Ramadani, who said his party was raising the alarm over the unconstitutional situation in Kosovo.
Ramadani said that, in their view, it was extremely important to promote public awareness of the unconstitutional situation. He added that the aim was also to exert public pressure and assign responsibility to those who, according to him, had blocked the situation in Kosovo. According to Ramadani, this situation must be resolved through democratic and institutional channels.
He said the Alliance was combining its political action with media appearances, particularly conferences, as well as direct communication on the ground with citizens.
According to Ramadani, the Alliance is active and is implementing its political strategy through continuous media appearances and conferences. At the same time, he said the party was communicating on the ground throughout Kosovo through its branches and structures, as well as with citizens interested in the country’s public and political life.
In addition to the conferences, Ramadani said the Alliance would continue presenting its six-point platform and communicating with citizens across the country. He said that if the political situation remained unchanged, citizens could also become involved in larger-scale gatherings.
He explained that this approach brings together the Alliance’s six-point offer, the identification of those responsible for the blockade, and communication with people throughout Kosovo. Ramadani expressed hope that the Assembly would be consolidated as soon as possible, opening the way for the institutional process of building the institutions. He stressed that communication with citizens was very intensive and that there was a continuing demand for larger gatherings, which, he said, would take place if the situation did not change.
Political affairs expert Arbnor Sadiku said that holding press conferences was acceptable, but that they should convey a clear message and objective.
According to him, every political action should produce results, either for the benefit of citizens or for the causes promoted by an opposition party.
Sadiku said the conferences had mainly been used to inform public opinion and that there was nothing wrong with the PDK and other parties holding them. But he stressed that a conference should be organized when there is something to say, not merely for occasional appearances without a message, purpose or effect. According to him, political action should achieve its objective and produce an effect for citizens or for the opposition’s causes, while in this case he believes the parties have failed.
Sadiku is also critical of part of the opposition’s refusal to engage in dialogue on the creation of Kosovo’s new institutions.
He told Kosovapress that this action had not been well coordinated, lacked a clear message and, for that reason, remained ineffective and harmless to Kurti. According to him, the situation would be different if a protest had been organized, or if the PDK had entered into dialogue and presented its positions at the table, declaring its readiness to emerge from the crisis rather than block the country. Sadiku said that the refusal of dialogue and protests without a message remained largely statements, without any real action.
Kosovapress attempted to obtain citizens’ views, but they declined to speak on camera. Two citizens who spoke off camera described the current situation in the country as shameful and said they were tired of politics.
Other citizens asked about the issue also did not want to comment further on the political situation, saying they were tired of politics and of the situation in which the country finds itself.
