Two weeks after the start of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti held a meeting with Ragnar Almqvist, Ireland’s non-resident ambassador to Kosovo.
In a public announcement, Kurti described Ireland as a friendly country and a key partner for Kosovo, expressing gratitude for its continued support and engagement within KFOR and EULEX missions.

During the conversation, he stressed that obtaining candidate country status and the opening of EU membership negotiations represent a well-deserved recognition of the reforms and progress Kosovo has achieved.
Kurti also highlighted that Kosovo is the most advanced democracy in the region, has recorded the highest average economic growth, and, in addition to broad citizen support for European integration, is fully aligned with the EU’s foreign and security policy.
