Kosovo’s Acting President, Albulena Haxhiu, has announced the decision to relieve 18 Serbian judges of their duties after they resigned in 2022.

According to Haxhiu, the measure was taken following a recommendation from the Kosovo Judicial Council and was based on her constitutional and legal powers.
“Today, following the proposal of the Kosovo Judicial Council and in accordance with my constitutional and legal responsibilities, I relieved 18 Serbian judges who resigned in 2022 of their duties,” she said.
The decision is part of institutional procedures aimed at addressing the situation created after the Serbian judges resigned from the justice institutions.
