The Mirditë Water Supply and Sewerage Service Unit announced that the restriction began on August 31 and is in effect from 11:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.
The water utility said the measure was taken as a result of the prolonged drought. The restriction is intended to better manage reserves so that water supply interruptions can be avoided during the day.
The decision has sparked outrage among Rrëshen residents. They say many families do not have water tanks, making a water supply during the night essential for them.
