Deputy leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Gazmend Muhaxheri, has criticized the way party leader Lumir Abdixhiku reached an agreement with the Vetëvendosje Movement on the presidential candidate.

Speaking to Indeksonline, Muhaxheri was asked about Bekim Sejdiu, who was proposed as a consensus candidate for president of the Republic of Kosovo.
He clarified that he had no objections to Sejdiu as a person, but questioned the procedure followed to make the decision within the LDK.
“I do not contest him as a figure. The General Council should have been called, and the matter discussed there,” Muhaxheri said briefly.
The agreement on Bekim Sejdiu’s candidacy was announced a day earlier by Vetëvendosje Movement leader Albin Kurti and LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku, who announced that he would be the consensus candidate for president of the Republic of Kosovo.
