Tirana police have arrested a 37-year-old man who was wanted for theft. The handcuffed suspect, identified as G. B., 37, is suspected of several cases of fraud and theft.

According to reports, on 14 August 2026, he allegedly obtained 20,000 lekë from two businesses located on “Brigada VIII” and “Teodor Keko” streets. He had told employees that he knew the owners of the businesses and that he would immediately return the money.
The 37-year-old is also suspected of committing another theft on 21 August 2026, when he took a bag containing 25,000 lekë from a business on “Skënder Luarasi” Street.
Investigations are continuing to fully identify and document the 37-year-old’s criminal activity. The procedural materials have been forwarded to the Prosecution Office for further action.
The State Police urges citizens and business administrators to exercise increased care and vigilance against forms of fraud. According to the appeal, under no circumstances should money or personal information be given to unverified individuals who make contact in various ways, including through videos created using artificial intelligence.
The Police also requests that any suspicion, lead, suspected person, or case in which citizens fall victim to these criminal acts be reported immediately. The appeal emphasizes that swift and close cooperation helps identify and apprehend the perpetrators, as well as protect citizens’ property and assets.
