Police have detained a 35-year-old man from the village of Buchim in Radovish after €14,440 was found in his vehicle, the origin of which he was unable to prove.

The Ministry of Interior said that on August 13, an Audi was stopped for inspection on the Radovish–Shtip main road, near the junction leading to the village of Buchim. M.V. was in the vehicle and had previously been placed under a precautionary measure banning him from leaving his home, due to suspicions of the criminal offence of unauthorised production and distribution of drugs.
During the vehicle search, police officers found money in various currencies. The public prosecutor was also informed about the case.
The Ministry of Interior said that M.V. had not provided any proof of the origin of the seized €14,440.
A day later, on August 14, the 35-year-old appeared before a judge at the Basic Court in Gevgelija. The court ordered 30 days of detention, after which he was transferred to Skopje Prison.
