More than 170 personnel have been deployed on the ground since early this morning. Employees of Dibër Municipality and the protected areas authority, army personnel and police forces are working to extinguish the fires.
Two aircraft that have arrived in Lurë have also joined the operation and are intervening from the air to prevent the fire from spreading.
The presence of several fires in different areas has raised suspicions that they may have been started deliberately. Due to the worsening situation, an ambulance accompanied by medical personnel has also been stationed in Lurë since yesterday.
One person was reportedly affected by smoke inhalation and received treatment in hospital.
Dibër Mayor Rahim Spahiu has also been in the area for the past three days, closely monitoring developments and firefighting efforts.
The deployed forces are continuing their efforts to prevent the flames from reaching homes, as the situation continues to be considered critical.
