The ruling OBRM-PDUKM party secured a record €2.5 million this year from budget funds earmarked for the regular financing of political parties. The opposition LSDM ranked second with €1 million, while BDI received €472,000, making it the third-largest recipient of state budget funds in 2026, “Prizma” wrote in its latest analysis.

According to a review of this year’s payment document, obtained by “BIRN” from the Ministry of Justice, the three parties topping the list together received 45 percent of the total fund allocated to financing political entities. Including payments to “The Left” and ZNAM, these five parties received more than half of the total amount distributed this year.
They are followed by five parties from the Albanian political bloc: the BESA Movement, the Democratic Movement, Alternativa and the Alliance for Albanians, which received between €220,000 and €245,000 each. The Democratic Party of Turks rounds out the top 10, with just over €180,000.
Political party activities in Macedonia are financed through the state budget, while the amount received by each party is determined by its election result.
