Protest in Orikum Against Territorial Reform, Residents Say: We Want Our Municipality Back

Residents of Orikum gathered on Monday to protest outside the Administrative Center, demanding that Orikum regain its status as a municipality. The protesters oppose its current administrative status and are calling for Orikum to be reinstated as a separate local government unit.

Residents voiced opposition to the current administrative structure as the protest continued outside the Administrative Center. Orikum currently operates as an administrative unit under the Municipality of Vlora.

With today’s protest, Orikum joins 15 other municipalities that have opposed the new administrative-territorial division proposed by the ruling majority.
