An operation against the cultivation of narcotic plants was carried out in Shkodër County, where police destroyed 2,098 cannabis plants and seedlings by burning them.
According to the official announcement, the operation was conducted in the villages of Ndrejaj and Vukël, as part of the ongoing police operation codenamed “Clean Territory.”

In the administrative unit of Shosh, in the village of Ndrejaj, officers from the Shkodër Police Commissariat found 768 suspected narcotic cannabis sativa plants. During the intervention in the plot, citizen P. M., 53, a resident of the village of Ndrejaj, was caught in the act and arrested.
Police also found and seized 80 suspected cannabis sativa seedlings near this citizen’s home.
In another case, in the administrative unit of Kelmend, in the village of Vukël, officers from the Malësi e Madhe Police Commissariat discovered 1,250 suspected narcotic cannabis sativa plants.
As the follow-up actions continued, citizen A. Ç., 52, was arrested in flagrante for the criminal offense of “Failure to report a crime,” after he was found near the plot where the narcotic plants were located.
Meanwhile, criminal proceedings were initiated while the suspect remained free for citizen K. B., 65, who serves as the village elder of Vukël.
Shkodër Police said that inspections are continuing intensively across the entire county, in cooperation with the Shkodër Public Security Unit and subordinate police commissariats, with the aim of preventing and cracking down on cases of narcotic plant cultivation.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Shkodër for further investigative actions.
