Putin: Moscow open to talks with Kyiv on the basis of the Istanbul agreements

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia remains ready to enter negotiations with Ukraine, based on the agreements reached in Istanbul.

He recalled that these agreements had earlier been initialed by the Ukrainian delegation, which, according to him, showed that the Ukrainian side agreed with their content.

Putin also said that peace talks with Ukraine should be built on the realities created in what he called the special operation zone.

According to him, attacks carried out by Ukrainian militants on the territory of the Russian Federation do not weaken but, on the contrary, increase the motivation of Russian Armed Forces personnel to carry out missions on the front line.

“Such attacks, especially those targeting children, certainly do not reduce the resolve, but on the contrary encourage our soldiers on the battlefield to carry out the tasks assigned to them by the country,” Putin said today.

Putin added that this happens because, after attacks by Ukrainian militants against civilians, Russian military personnel understand even more clearly who they are dealing with.
