The president thanked Wiles for her service as chief of staff and twice praised her excellent work. He also expressed his pleasure at Miller’s appointment.
The change comes just days after Republican losses in the midterm elections, in which Democrats regained control of the US Congress. Wiles was the first woman to serve as White House chief of staff. She is one of Trump’s closest associates and played an important role in his 2024 presidential campaign.
