The conference will focus on the reports prepared about the case and the steps the institutions will take next, the government said.
A day earlier, the Office of the Prime Minister announced that it had received detailed reports from the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding Zekaj’s case.
The documents are expected to be carefully reviewed to determine whether there were shortcomings, negligence, a failure to respond or institutional responsibility in handling the case.
“Together with the relevant ministers, the reports will be examined and analyzed in detail, including the history and course of the case, every shortcoming and irresponsible handling, negligence and failure to respond, as well as anything related to the procedure and institutional responsibility,” the Office of the Prime Minister said in a statement.
The planned protest follows the widespread public reaction to Arlinda Zekaj’s killing and calls for the responsible institutions to be held accountable.
Protests have been held in recent days, with calls to investigate the actions and inaction of officials involved in handling the victim’s case.
