The protest is being organized following widespread reactions to Zekaj’s murder and calls for the responsible institutions to be held accountable. Protests have also been held in recent days, demanding an investigation into the actions and omissions of officials involved in handling the case.
The Office of the Prime Minister said a day earlier that it had received detailed reports on the case from the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the statement, the documents will be examined in detail in cooperation with the relevant ministers, with the aim of reviewing the case’s history and progress and identifying any possible shortcomings, negligence, failure to act and institutional responsibility.
The statement said the review would cover any shortcomings and irresponsible handling, negligence and failure to respond, as well as matters related to procedure and institutional responsibility.
The government announced that Gërvalla and Sveçla’s press conference will focus on the reports received and the next steps concerning the case.
